I need some ideas for dithers for my male Festae. The silver dollars I have right now aren't working. I have a group of five and they are just too skittish. He is shy to begin with and they just make things worse. He is in a six foot 125 by himself right now.

I have had some giant danios in the past and was thinking about doing these again. They are fast, but occasionally do get picked off when he is hungry. I think I would like to have something with a little more size though.

My SD's aren't skittish one bit, they're very relaxed and calm. Remember I keep the spotted SD's that only grow about 4"-4.5". Filament barbs are schooling fish and grow about 6". They're very quick, strong swimmers when grown up...but I wouldn't say they're skittish either.

You could also try convicts. They'll get your male out and about patrolling his tank.

Filament barbs or mascara barbs would be perfect. I would do half a dozen of them. They are fast as hell get a cool looking green sheen to them and are not as common. I had an old male that acually got to 8 inches.
