  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That thickness of glass would make me nervous as well, but I'm glad to hear it's holding up well for you :headbang2

Can you post some pics?

I am against most on this thread and i am with the OP, good on you mate with it being fine.

I have had a 8x2x2 and a 6x2x2 in the past, even now i have got a 6x2x2 again, all second hand and all made from 10mm or 3/8 glass, they were all well braced and never had a problem at all.

If you dont know what this is you don't have stingrays!!!! I keep them in a frame. So I am sure everyone else that has them is the same as me an aquarium geek. Lets see your art.

Almost every company that builds custom tanks in the UK uses 10mm glass for 6x2x2 tanks,it is a standard thickness used.
I know that at least 2 of these companies have been in business over 20 years so I would imgine they dont get many tanks fail infact i have never heard of either company having any problems using 10mm on 6x2x2 of even 8x2x2 with a double base and I am pretty certain that both sizes still exceed the asfety factor of 2 when built in 10mm.Seems to be the same with stands you guys like to over build them most stand produced over here even for 180's and 240's are produced from 18 mm MFC and all seem to hold up just fine no 2x4 just seems to be that some things are done differently but both ways seem to work.
