i just seen a house with a pool around the top floor. they have plexi glass golding a sh* load more water than your tank and all they have is 2 laminated 1/2" thick plexi glass. think about that
spiff;1474208; said:2in thick is what is suggested by the manufacturer for 4ft of water...with a 1.5in support all the way around the edge.... this is exactly what I'm using for my 5x10ft4ft tank.
Notice at the end of the article to for the 1700gal tank where he used 1.5...that it bowed.. just after a couple years... might be enough to break the seal after a while. All acrylic will bow, it just depends how much is too much and what timeframe you're talking about. For me.. i wanted the piece of mind of the 2in.... (mind you..is a thousand dollar diff from the 1.5in)
