You are replying to a daydreamer that got banned. LOL

actually you dont need to go that thick if its only gonna be 4ft tall look up a thread on 1700 gallon black tip tank he used 1.5" on a tank over 4 it was about 5 feet high so you could use lower or just use 3 and go higher;) but then again in im a newb so check the article to be sure

2in thick is what is suggested by the manufacturer for 4ft of water...with a 1.5in support all the way around the edge.... this is exactly what I'm using for my 5x10ft4ft tank.

Notice at the end of the article to for the 1700gal tank where he used 1.5...that it bowed.. just after a couple years... might be enough to break the seal after a while. All acrylic will bow, it just depends how much is too much and what timeframe you're talking about. For me.. i wanted the piece of mind of the 2in.... (mind you..is a thousand dollar diff from the 1.5in)

whats the go with filter? not gonna get 20 ehiem canisters like sum guy on here. hhaha i wish i had 2 of them.

so what?, thats $100 a year for 10 years, that piece of mind cost for like $00.27 a day, id say thats worth it..., so lets see your tank.

Not sure why you're asking "so what?" for... people were asking, I happened to have called the manufacturer and had that info and passed it on.

You don't need to argue the point I'm making with me...
