I have a question, if acrylic is stronger then glass, why do all the thickness guides I see say to use thicker acrylic then glass. Is this because acrylic can bow, and Glass will not? Awsome write up, I will be using this when I build my sump. I didn't see an answer to the question can you bond black acrylic with clear, and if so what do you need to do different.

Very nice tips. Can you suggest acrylic sheet thickness according to height? for example 24'' height with 22'' water level you will go for 15mm or 20mm thickness? braced top ofcourse. will the 15mm bend?
