DIY Blue LED lighting?

Quick question to anyone who can help i have a 75 gallon tank and im looking at T5HO and LEDs. well i read this whole thread and I am liking LEDs more and more over T5s lol. All I am wondering is how much it would cost for a DIY LED setup on a tank my size. the tank is not planted so lumens dont matter to me and dimmer sounds cool but is it needed. I know you get what you pay for but budgets tight. just throwing it out there if anyone can help with price and materials.
 
Yeah go ahead quote and take whatever you want.

For a 75 gallon you could probably go with the three 20 W whites. As for prices I would just go on eBay and just look for some good prices. People say that the Chinese LEDs on eBay are cheap and break right away. I've had my lights going for quite awhile and they are still working great

check the DIY section for my thread on moonlights. I built my own in about an hour total and only spent $20. Looks just as good if not better (my opinion) than any store bought one. Id post a link for you but I'm on my phone right now and havnt figured that out yet lol

alright sweet will do thank you for both your guys help. I cant wait to get some actual light instead of my walmart 24 inch flourescent lol thaks again.
 
one more thing @Slippery K how much feet did you use? And how do you think white would work, prolly not bright enough?

A 36" Single LED light from Marineland will cost me about $80 and I'll need two...so if there was a way to make my own, I'd sure love to give it a try.

In order to achieve led blue lighting for your tank you can take assistance of some expert or search in google.

I used 12 feet of lighting on a 4 foot home-made light fixture (piece of deck sideing cut in half). So the string light loops around the inside 3 times.
