DIY casting (fishing) deck

me and my bro in law messed with our outboard last night. We took it to one marine shop and they wanted like $1200 and said the whole motor had to be rebuilt. They even said the starter which is pretty new was gone and we know its not.

Finally we just asked to purchase a carb rebuild kit but they wouldnt sell it to us!

Anyway we got in there and cleaned the carbs and found another place to buy some gaskets and took it on the river and she is rolling great now! Fired up on the first try every time. Its not fast but I think with two people and gear it will do about 30.

We should meet at patoka or the river soon!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I can't think of a better investment. I've had more fun on this boat this summer than I've had for a long time!

Be careful out there. The water is going to be packed with all the fools this weekend. Im debating on rather or not to hit the river Sunday, but Im afraid of all the cigar boat racing up and down the river at 80MPH ar gonna swamp me!

I've got a nice "no wake" lake that I'll go to. Just a bunch of fisherman trolling around!
