Too cool man. Hit me up when you go into production. I would love to get one of these for my GF to keep in her office at work. The outside would have to be glazed in the brightest most garish color available though.

Bad news, someone broke my tank so now 4 weeks of work is GONE :irked::wall::mad::cry::(:thumbsdow:WTF: Now I have to start all over :/

Hes a kid I really dont get along with anyway and he found out it was mine and he smashed it. Now i have a reason to beat the living crap out of him.

People are so stupid these days! :irked: On another note, I'm a fan of more subtle tactics of revenge.... :grinno:

Hope you can start again and make it even more epic than before!

Perhaps this kid is already in the "Clay tank" business ;) Gotta eliminate competition somehow!

Wow just found this thread, awesome idea, wish I had thought of something like that when I was in community college, took 2 years of ceramics. Really lame that it got broken and I agree that more subtle forms of revenge tend to work better than just beating the crap out of someone...although that does feel pretty good...not a great idea. Anyways, be sure to keep us updated when you get one together. One idea I had was instead of just trying to make everything straight and square (which ends up being really hard working with big slabs) why not just make it look more like a big rock or something? Can do the normal box and then add bulges here and there and instead of just a square viewing window cut out more of a cave like opening? Keep at it....will be amazing when its done.

I Think I will try that idea, but unfortunately I wont be making it for the next few months due to starting drivers ed thats every monday and thursday (Pottery club is on monday >_<) So I will revive this thread once It begins again.

creative idea! i would take out the front (marked in your pic) and just silicone a piece of rimless glass in there. that would look killer imo!

it should be more than strong enough to hold together, i wouldn't worry about that. i've seen ceramic fountains a lot bigger than that thing.

i'm not fond of this overflow either, i'd rather see it cut out. but i like the idea overall, keep us updated!! make sure it's level too or it's gonna look weird with water in it and it could overflow from any low spots.

please don't take offense by my suggestions, they're just my opinions. it's your design do what you like! :) thanks for sharing btw.
