No I believe doubling up the recipe will make it last longer or make more co2 for a bigger tank.
The reason is because eventually it ferments and alcohol starts to built up, I not sure if it something about the alcohol or the acidity but the yeast will then die, usually never eating all the sugar. Although getting better yeast strain like said above for brewing beer or wine make it last longer and may make more co2 because they are tolerant to the fermentation that goes on. I heard you can find there betters strain online and they usually come in liquid form. The better strains are said to last 3-4 weeks compared to 1-2 weeks with regular yeast. Although I haven't tried the better yeast yet but plan doing so, so don't take my word for it. If your try the better yeast just watch for when it stops producing, then you can compare it with regular yeast and see if it’s worth it.

The baking soda is garbage don't add it, many swear by it but I used and don't see a difference and there is not evidence it works and the reason is to make is less acidic so the yeast doesn't die from the acidity but it doesn't exactly work that way and we don't know if it’s the acidity or others contributing factors. So I don’t use it but hey try it and experiment.

Recipe:
2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups water
Shake in 2L Soda Bottle until it dissolves into the water
Then mix 1/4 teaspoon of yeast with 1/4 cup of tepid water (Luke warm, I heard around 100F is best) and let it dissolve if you have liquid yeast you don’t have to put it in Luke warm water, then dump it in.
Then fill it up until it starts to curve on top, like 3 quarters full.

Another thing make sure the seal on the cap where the hose comes in is good, if it’s not strong enough it will leak co2, some try crazy glue others doing different things like making a very small hole and pushing the hose through, silicone, etc. It’s kind of difficult because the Capes plastic doesn't seal or bond well with anything, so something mechanical that you can screw to tighten is best.

As for a bigger tank I would just put more bottles, which is going to be a pain to redo loll, 75G I would think 4-5 Bottles would work but don’t take my word for it, experiment and measure the co2 in the water, with those little kits. It’s going to be a pain to do!

Honesty really if you’re going to hook up the co2 in a 75g just go for the pressurized co2 then, find a local that can fill it up, maybe tell him you’ll be a regular and he might give you a discount. With your own pressurized co2 it’s easy to setup and I would think for a 75g cheaper then DIY. ALWAYS measure the co2 in the water remember you can kill you fish even with DIY, also keep in mind the is can change the pH of the water depending on your KH in the water, so don’t shock you fish with a pH drop. Co2 can make the water more acidic.

Information overload I know, just want to give you the right information. If you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask!
