I am hoping I can remove it, I'm hoping the silicon will not bond to the plastic in the same way it would to glass.

And I would like to get 3-6 months out of it between maintenance :D
 
Great work! Where did you get that canister from ?

The only thing I see is the filter wool is getting the larger debris before the coarse sponge? This is similar to my modded Fx5. The Flow would come in from the top and out through the bottom, yours seems to be backwards?

Canister was from a plastic co. in Brisbane called People in Plastic

The intake is at bottom and there is 3 layers of course sponge then the filter wool then a single piece of sponge at the top.

With the intake on the bottom of the canister and the return on top of the lid I would have thought this made it similar to other commercial units on the market.
