DIY FOAM BACKGROUND

maybe add a layr of gray tinted resin then a dark green, to look like mossy rock...

I don't think you really need to do anything else to it. It'll look more realistic once it's in the tank and has algae growing on it.
 
Ok I just did my last coat of resin :nilly: and drilled the holes for my return tubes,there still sticking out a ways but when I'm ready to put the background in I'm going to trim them flush with it.

superb i love it great job looking forward to seeing this done i have seen a couple other people do this but you did the sides to that's awsome. Love the coloring on them awasome you said you'r going to silicone it to the tank so it doesn't float right good idea
