Hey man, this looks really great. I got a couple of questions for you. I want to do the same thing with my next tank, but I'm concerned about trapped water between the foam and the wall/floor of the tank. I'd be using sand also. Wouldn't the water that's in these areas be stagnant and cause some kind of problem? Also, what is the purpose of clear coating the resin? I would think that would just add potential problems since the resin should be able to stand up to being perpetually submerged.
Another thing - has anyone seen those plastic faux rock walls that they have at Home Depot? They keep them near the building supplies and they're supposed to be for putting on that 3-4 feet section of brick at the bottom of some houses. It doesn't look nearly as nice as this job, and it is more of a predictable layout of rock, but I though about getting this and trying to paint it or something. Ideas?
Man, I'm really missing my old job - I was in the Marines and fixed the structure of helicopters. I mostly worked with metal and fiberglass for about 5 years. I could have gotten the resin for free in there - the resin was blue and the hardner was red, so you could get different hues of green depending on how hot you made it. Oh well.
