Hey Hendre! If you get the RGB-W LED strips, it comes with everything you need included in the package. No fancy wiring or or anything. Trim to desired length and mount. It's all plug and play and comes with a remote to change the colors and adjust brightness if need be.

Them be some nice LEDs! IP68 rating! You could have just siliconed those to the inside of the tank frame and been fine. They ARE waterproof to over 3ft.

I understand that the led light is IP68, waterproof, but still afraid. Waterproof doesn't mean no leaking. I dont want someday, i walk down my basement, see the belly up because electric shock. :D

The supernights work on a timer. At least my 3 sets do. I purchased the first set like 4 years ago and the newest set is like almost 6 months old. If you play with the color settings you can reduce the blueness of the LEDs. The silicone was meant for the OPs Samsung LEDs that he used. I would not recommend submerging the waterproof Supernight strips as the power leads are left exposed where they connect to the strip.
Your LED is awesome, I used to have the one like you, but i put under the island in my kitchen, it last around 4 months, then chip by chip are dying. That is the reason why I choose the new Samsung LED chips.

I too had a set of the Amazon strips slowly die chip by chip. Got them replaced by the manufacturer and have not had the issue since.

I wasn't saying you should place the Samsung LEDs in the tank but it is possible. Not sure I would ever put any light IN the tank. The thought is interesting though.
