DIY moon light w/LED Xmas lights?

well good idea , i might try it after new year
still have lots of LEDs , gotta get some more stuff

Autozone sells led lights that come on a 30 inch strip for like 10 bucks, its for in your car but Ive seen them used on tanks before. They look really good to.

You can buy the mounting pieces (for x-mas lights) or staple the cord onto a piece of plywood with a staple gun.
 
take a string of christmas lights ($1.88) and tape them on the inside of your hood and just leave them on 24 hrs a day so when you turn off your daylights wahlah
 
I've also seen the strips of lights used. But they had problems with the mositure messing them up so they covered them in hot glue to waterproof them.

I think covering them would be the safest option. Either hot glue or silicone.
 
the ones for cars

go to lowes buy a clear plastic tube

if they dont sell it buy it from a photo store or walmart someone sells them i have a bunch

put the led car light in the tube

cap one end with a small piece of acrylic

cap the other end with cord with silicone

all set

works well
