That's a good point but a little bit incorrect. Fish in general don't respond to the amount of light but rather the differential. Therefore as long as he puts day lights on durring the day and the moonlight on all night every night, they will think that that is what night looks like. If he only put on the moonlights some nights that could be a problem but why would he do that.

I was wondering if sand glowed using a blacklight?
 
I also bought a dual 12" cold cathode light and used a old power supply
gives off more light than the led's and you can find them on ebay cheap
 
I went to micro center and got my Cold Cathode, for 11.00 + tax. One good warnning, if your going to use a wall wart type of power supply, check the voltage I burnt out my 1st CC becuase a 11VDC was actully putting out 16VDC, I found this to be the case on 3 other wall warts. I ended up using a power supply from my battery charger.
