i notice the intake is just vertical, but the design had a horizontal. does it matter? any benefits either way?
Do you get a hideous sucking sound if its vetical? Also, does the pvc need to go that far down into the tank? What if I just put an elbow on it right at the water level or even a couple inches below it?
Where is the cheapest place online to but your pump for your sump. Whats the best brand for you $$$.

If its working right and there is no air getting caught it shouldn't make a noise. The piping doesn't need to go all the way down but i remember there was a rule to follow...i'll try dig up the links for it, actually i think someone on here already has the links on a thread...
