Life is much easier when you give up on the DIY overflow pipes and drill the tank. Although my DIY overflow worked well I will never do another one now that I have drilled my tanks!

Ok so I added my 2nd overflow tonight, the 2''. Then I upgraded my outlet from the pump up to 1 1/4'' running full bore both overflows are keeping up. However, They are ten times as loud and the 2'' one does create a tornado and then burp out air. Nonetheless, I have at least 2kgph as of now!
