First off, I just signed up this month and I'm really starting to like MFK. I thought I would share my 2 cents and pics of my new DIY plywood tank. The first pics are the first tank I built before I even knew of MFK and the rest is the new tank I'm currently working on. The first tank is 72"x24"x16" and the second is 48"x24"x17". Both are 100 roughly gallons. Since I dont have any 'monster fish' yet, what do you guys suggest I get first for the new tank?

Those tanks are awesome!

Impressive my friend. And as to your question its all bout what you like. If you like biggish cichlids go with em if you like one mean fish go with one mean fish. do what you wanna do

thanks...im thinkin about ebjd's in the new one. but every thing i hear about them is that they have short lifespans. anybody know about them?

that new tank is sooo nice. i'm jealous. very cool design.
personally ebjd's are awesome, in someone elses tank. i've had a few and got way board with them all. they grow super slow, are wusses, are short lived, and shy. i had two for over a year feeding them really well and they barely broke three inches, while the rest of the fish wre hitting between 8 and 10". i think you would love festaes if you want brightly colored cichlids. theres just so much to choose from and so many different combinations of fish its hard to suggest. i think africans would be super cool with that footprint, like a colony of tropheus or something.
tell us some guidelines of how you want your fish to be and we can give better suggestions.
