how can you compare this to old furniture that holds no weight on it?
this thing has what a few TONS on it?
big difference
;)
and the boat part is different also
its bent and the pressure pushes against it different
:)
its all good, everyone does it different
:)
OK...how many miles do you think big heavy stone wheels on wooden axles lasted...Imagine all the stresses that no bearings or no suspension put on them...

What are those lights? Where did you get them so cheap?

I got them off Ebay from Captain Aquarium. They are Coralife 24" twin T5 freshwater lights, 31.99 each + shipping He also has good deals on sch 40/80 bulkhead adapters and Bio balls. I used the sch 80 bulkheads on my tanks they are great. I wont use anything else now. I filled a trash can full of his bio balls for my pond filter, although I don't think he sells bio balls in bulk like he used to.

Looks like you are a boat wright or equivalent....
I like your engineering and craftsmanship, KUDOS...

I built my first boat a 12 years old with very little help from my dad. It was a El Toro...more of a dingy with a sail, two years later I built a Sunfish with out any help from dad. It was a much faster boat and more fun to sail.

Here is a more current picture of the tank. I still want to have another small rock pile on the left side of the tank but the rock store only had much larger pieces of the rock I am using. So far the tank has a breeding group of Christmas Fulus, they spawned the second day they were in the tank, 7 Speckleback leptosomas, 7 orange leleupi, a breeding group of Ophthalmotialpa Heterodonta and a single electric blue jack dempsy. No real monster fish but when I bought the tank I was going to put in my Cobra Snakeheads, I ended up giving them to a friend.

I just knew it!;)
You can always spot the work where somebody understands wood and it's properties...
The first boat I ever commercial fished in Ak was a 1912 Sitka Fir hulled Seiner...The keel was 50' x 1' x 2' originally milled in 1911. It was a hard chined, tall forefooted hull that rolled rail to rail just leaving the dock...
I seen some pretty nasty weather in that boat and I thought she would blow apart. Just flexed and creeked and got us home to tell the story trip after trip...Wood is cool!:D
