I'd just double up some 2x4's instead of using 4x4's.
4x4's usually are twisted, cracked, warp, and probably more expensive.

Whoah....take it easy there! We'll get to you!

Plan looks ok. Take a look at the one I built for my 100 gallon US. Would be quite suitable for a 150 I would think.

It's here....

lol, your tank looks good, i kinda took the design from my 75 gallon stand but changed the middle supports for 2x4 to 4x4s.

i'd add a cross brace. maybe just a 2x4 going slanted across the entire back and both sides. with a stand such as that a good push on any side could cause the whole thing to twist from |=| to /=/ and fall over. other then that it looks fine to me.

Yup.. it needs to be cross braced. The 4x4 or even 2x4 will support the weigth no worries, but the whole thing can wrack and fold up like X24's little |-| --> /-/ diagram shows.

Either brace it with diagonal timber braces, or if the stand is going to be enclosed then clad the back and sides with plywood. Screw and glue it onto place then there is no way it can fold up :D Use the cladding as a dual purpose, enclose AND brace.

yeah the whole will but enclosed, so i just use thickers plywood to give it some support.
