diy tank dividers

ok I was looking for some ideas for a tank divider , i know guys use egg crate but egg crate by itselfs isnt that secure for me fish seem to get by it eventually so looking for suggestions

I have no clue what will work, since I don't know what kind of fish you have. Some fish are known to jump over dividers, so I don't trust them. So I have separate tanks in my system.

i am going to the divider to separate hemichromis frempongi also known as five spot jewel

Maybe DIY with pvc pipe and laundry bag material


or just pvc pipe alone

I used tenplast, it's perfect.

If you simply try to use eggcrate vertically, it can be very flimsy.
But if you add some horizontal pieces, to shore it up, and put rock on the horizontal ones, it can work well.

I also notch out areas to snuggle it and wedge it into the tank rim.

sometimes fish will actually spawn thru the divider onto rocks used to secure it.
