i been wanting to ask that to.
people do put them in there sumps,glass sumps.
my tupperware is thin so putting a heater in it is scary.
my heater is in my tank till i ask.
anyone know?lol
just put it on a piece of glass so the heater never comes in contact with the plastic... I use heaters in my sump it is very nice then my rays never get close to them and my bigger fish cant break them
I have a stealth heater in my rubbermaid sump,not a problem yet.

Thanks, I'll either put in the pvc with holes or on a piece of glass. But i have another problem, my tank is 3 ft wide with 2 pieces of glass on each end, my penguin 350 and my aquaclear 110 cover about the entire surface, so the overflow might have to be modified to fit over one of the filters, or over and around one of the glass peices, but would this work?
Today I just figured out that my "75" is really a 90 gallon tank, so would a 18 gallon tubberware still be fine.

i saw the mag drive pumps but those cost like 50-60 bucks, is there anyway around buying this or is it the normal price for the pump i would need?
