No. The fish in the refugium section would only provide more "food" for the plants.
The fish aren't actually necessary, I just stuck them in because I was bored, and I found the fish in the shapes pallet.
All you would really need are plants, and a light.

i like this i was wondering what yall thought about a 3 drawer sterilite i have a few of the hangin around . i seen someone make it from this b4 looked like it would work good
ok so i built the wd fuge will post pics soon. got it all ready to bring in the house 165 gal tank with a 55 wd using a 3 drawer sterilite came out great. but then i woke up in the morn and found all the water on the ground with the front pane of the tank cracked corner to corner .what a drag i flipped dont know what happened but my bubble popped lol. but i found a guy wanting to trade his 365 gal for a small outboard motor. wich i had been given one by my uncle 6 months ago and never used it. but this thing is a monster its a 365 acrylic 5' long 31" wide 48"tall 1 inch thich and came with a 5 ft long sump
