Update on the Prototype...

Just havn't had time to put it together, need to get something to act as a drip pan. the W/D bucket is an almost rectangle that is just over 9x11 .. the corners are rounded so the acrylic 8x10 picture frame doesnt quite fit (the corners hit), I need to find something else....

Any thoughts on this ???? I have been looking at rubbermaid/tupperware....
I could post an aerial view pic later...

The production system is now on-hold; my buddies wife decided that she wanted to be single again. His new house is plenty big enough, but there is now a cash-flow issue with that project..

Here is is.. the bio bucket portion..

The current set-back is the pre-filter-media holder/drip plate

The measurements are to the inside lip and the bucket tapers slightly inward. An 8x10 acrylic photo frame won't fit, so I am looking for an alternative. I have gone though the cabnets & have not found a storage container that will fit.. I am sure there is one out there. Does anyone have a contaner about 2 inches deep that might fit the bill? not that I expect you to send it to me, just thought that you might have a brand & size of the thing....

Bucket is 12 inches deep
The lower hole is 2 inches from bottom on center, the upper hole is 8 1/4 on center from the lower..

The bio area is about 2-3/4 gal true wet/dry & 1/4 gal wet/wet; it will be scrubbie filled (most sueface area for the BUCK).

Your in luck I actually did this in my highschool aquaculture class..and we grew tomatoes..and sold them to fund the class..and yes u do usually use nutrients but we also did it with the trout waste water from the solid seperaters which is a type of gravity filter ..and the plants grew like crazy...so if you have any more questions just pm me and ill be glad to help..also lettuce..strawberries should work..and probably eggplant and zuchinni
