What kind of place take DNA testing for fish?

what happened?

ppl wanna base their fish on location location? lol

Source310. If you're from Cali, you go to new york to visit, get you caught by a big fish and he took your DNA.. It will not say youre from Cali coming to visit.

DNA is not about location where you hang out. DNA is Genetic stuff.

A certain species or supspecies are from a certain location, so when they get their DNA test, it will tell if the fish is really from that location.

if it matches the DNA of the fish from that location that was tested before..

DNA got nothing to do with Geographic.. Only if it matches the DNA of the fish they had tested before.. And how many fish had their DNA taken?

Im not even getting any answers on what this type of place it is called so I can research. So I dont think it's very advanced to where they had samples of ALL cichlids ' DNAs



Anyways.. How to get DNA for our fish?

I would like to take my FH to go get DNA testing. Then I can know what are all the genes that created my FH.

Take DNA from lets say a endlicheri bichir. That endlicheri bichir came from the Volta river. His DNA will be different from an endlicheri bichir from the Nile river. If you looked at it without knowing it was from the Volta river and you didn't have other Volta river bichirs on file, then you wouldn't be able to tell that it was from the Volta river. But if you did have a proven Volta river bichir's DNA on file then you could say that endlicheri A isn't from the Volta river but endlicheri B is.

My point is that fish that live in a geographic region will have a different DNA setup than one from a different place. Location will affect a fish's DNA and diverge the DNA from the original. Location isn't the only thing that does that, like food, temperature, etc, but different location often have different food, temperature etc and change the DNA.

but this part Im not knowledgeable of.. Really? So U are saying if I lived in Brazil from age day 1 - age 30; then take my DNA for that time frame; then move to America and live in America for another 30 yrs till Im 60 then take my DNA again. .. Those DNAs will be of two different ppl?

I dont think so but Im no DNA scientist

But anyways.

NO, if you went to brazil and lived your whole life there and had kids who lived their whole life and had kids who lived their whole life there etc, eventually your DNA will change. DNA is an eventual thing, and these fish have been living in certain location for generations and their DNA has changed to show that.
And I don't know where to get DNA test, try going to a college to see if they will do it.
