Do feeder frogs contain parasites or diseases

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just looks like an american bullfrog to me, not toxic but also usually not caught or raised in the best conditions, I would either get some alternative food source or if you're really keen on feeding your fish live frogs, quarantine them and see if they stay healthy, but even then parasites that affect fish may not show up in the frog.
Yup. All american bullfrogs. Sold in a variety of sizes from pea-sized to about strawberry-sized. My leopard ctenopomas loved them.

Are earth eaters and weather loaches sage as feeder fish?

Do feeder frogs contain parasites or diseases? I just got some to feed my arowana and peacock bass. Never bought frogs before so I’m uncertain whether they carry parasites like feeder fish and whether I should quarantine then or smthg. Thanks
It’s a possibility, I wouldn’t use them unless you know their source

+1
But they aren’t super cheap so I wouldn’t go use them as feeders unless you’ve been breeding them yourself.

Don't recommend the weather loaches personally. They are sadly raised in conditions which are rather unsanitary for aquaculture standards, so whatever you feed them to could easily catch a bad pathogen.
