ive seen air trapped in my old GT's mega poo, i say mega poo as it was almost bigger than he was lol, before that made it float when it broke of but allas no farting. nothing that amusing from my fish yet.

but there real question is....

what food makes them fart the most so we can get the best performance out of our fish?!?!

its gotta be high fiber foods. veggies and peas/beans.

Air escaping from the anus of fish is not a good sign. It usually indicates digestion and swim bladder issues. If a fish for example a frontosa is eating at the surface or eating foods to high in protein you may see them bobbing in the water and then later bubbles escaping from the anus. This is usually due to the wrong diet or swallowing to much air. I know first hand that this situation will usually end in death at some point. In my opinion fish expelling gas is a sign of a problem that needs to be addressed! Most fish that are surface feeders the air they gulp immediately escapes from their gills. But a fish that is not a top water species swallows air and it does cause problems. Do your home work on whether your species of fish is surface, mid water or deep species and get food that is presented in the appropriated area of the water column! Hope that helps.
