Do I have a boy on my hands?

There is no need for a high wattage basking bulb as it's not hard to raise one area in his enclosure to a proper basking temp.
I agree. Even a lower wattage bulb can produce high heat. As long as he can reach the correct temps without touching the bulb, it should be fine. Though I would suggest that if he seems to spend a lot of time basking, try giving him more than one hot spot. See what temperature he prefers

+1 maybe add multiple spots with branches at different levels of the cage so that it can decide which temps it prefers to be at

I'm sure that with all your assumptions you know exactly what I'm doing. The room he is in is set at 80 degrees. There is no need for a high wattage basking bulb as it's not hard to raise one area in his enclosure to a proper basking temp. He is not dehydrated and never has been. Just because you don't keep a reptile in an enclosure with any sort of mesh to allow air flow doesn't mean that it doesn't work for others in different climates. I'm not sure why you keep mentioning he's dehydrated when there is no evidence he is and when snakeguy, whose opinion I trust more than any one else's I this forum with all his experience stated he appears perfectly healthy.

My replys are just generalized statements about dehydration..... and how open top screen cages with basking lights on top, can cause any tropical reptile to dehydrate.

I never once said that "your" iguana was dehydrated.
