Do I Have Ich or Velvet?

What size water changes you recommend? And you talking wc's between doses as in pretty much daily? I have alot of driftwood in there and by constantly moving it to vacuum gravel drives them nuts and I don't want to stress them anymore than they are

now that you say that...the heat you have them set at could be causing some of the heavy breathing, you really have to up your surface agitation when you crank the heat that high. ich shouldn't be able to survive at that temp, but you won't be able to safely bring the salinity up high enough in the tank either, due to again those fish being pretty sensitive.

yes daily, small like 10-15%, and just hit the substrate that's exposed then, it isn't completely necessary but will help pull some of the encysted parasites in your substrate out before having to wait for them to hatch so the meds can take effect. ich is somewhat intricate but easy to treat./

I have two powerheads with airlines running into them. Would that be the same as surface agitation or should I focus one towards the surface? I've always wondered this
 
IMO, those spots look more like ich than velvet.

I have always treated my ich cases with heat and API aquarium salt. I crank the heat to 90, add salt IAW the dosing on the package and add tons of surface agitation to ensure good dissolved oxygen. *knock on wood* I've never lost a fish to ich and it always goes away fairly quickly.

This is the current setup with the powerheads. I have a Maxi jet 900 I could take out of my 125 to really get some serious surface agitation going. My channel cat and yellow bass won't be too happy but hey, they don't have ich soooo

I have used this for years....smell like crap but is all natural. It contains multiple herbs containing Naphthoquinone....5%
I got it from a reef guy.
This is the safest meds I know of.

The owner of the LFS started to sell me Kordon's Rid Ich but highly recommended the Quick Cure over it
