No, the cats show themselves the fish. They are Ragdolls and so not inclined to overexert themselves for scaly treats when they have a bowl full of food.
There are many ,many ,many worse things you could do with your spare time .
anytime people come to my house they say dang thats alot of tanks , then they give me a wierd look ,
after I feed them and they totally change thier minds
Then I ask them what do you have at your house that makes you money !
I HAVE FISH MAKING ME MONEY WHILE I WORK !
DH gives me crap about my tanks all the time. Everytime he brings up how much money I spend on my fish I just remind him that his hunting, snowmobling, and tool buying cost us a lot more.
Besides, I catch him peeking in the tanks every now and then!
My parents used to say I spent to much time and money with my fish. The "grow up" comment was their favorite. I remember my dad going nuts when FedEx delivered a box of koi angels while he and my mom where babysitting. He just keep ranting about how I paid $8 a fish (yep, he opened my invoice!) He shut up when I sold a pair from that batch for $83 6 months later.
I'm 20 and some of my friends think I'm wierd. I have my own apartment seperate from my grandparents house where I live and have all my tanks. Whenever I bring a girl over they're always amazed by the fish and all of my tanks. Sometimes it's hard to get them away from the fish. But having tanks has definetaly never been to my detrimate. I'm a little hypocritical though because I thought it was pretty wierd when I found out a girl I was kinda seeing bred rabbits....and I thought she was normal lol. If you think fish stink give that a try.
I used to collect toxins in little vials , people thought that was odd , slowly I started hearing fewer complaints . I no longer have that collection though .
Now that I work at the aquarium, I don't even get a second glance from most people (I do get several looks of disappointment when I tell them that no, I do NOT work with the baby tigers. We do have other animals at the zoo!).
My mom does ask why my 29 gallon banjo cat tank is so "dirty" and the waters unclear, but that's what happens when you want the tannins to leach out of the driftwood, and you toss leaf litter in, so you see the banjos all the time!
