Do they really puff up????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok thank you. Im going to the LFS tomarro and im going to find sum Bactirea for the cycle

ok i red it and my tank is cycled. So it was useless reading that.
???? This is why your fish keep dying & so will your next ones, unless you cycle the tank before you add fish. Please, I'm 35 years older than you. Been doing this for twice as long as you've been alive. Read that article about 3x or as many as it takes for you to understand & then ask lots of questions.

You need to read and understand the link given to you.

The bacteria need a food source. It takes about 8 weeks to cycle a tank with a food source, some times it can be done in a s few as 5 weeks.

Ok. and like in that article it says you can use some bacteria. Im going to the store looking for it.

The ONLY bacteria you should buy is Dr Tim's but if you add it, you must stock the tank with fish or the bacteria will starve to death. If you buy anything else, you are purchasing "garbage in a bottle"--dead bacteria.

but you have to also provide a food source for the bacteria. In fishless cycling you can add pure amonia per the directions in that link. Also beware of store bought bacteria, most of it's worthless or is just dead bacteria in a bottle. Do a bit of searching on fishless cycling and that should clear up any questions you have.
