Do you buckle up?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I always wear mine, & my truck don't roll unless everyone in it does.

How do you not get pulled over krich? I've been pulled over and had my car searched (I assume cuz of skin color) over no seat belt

Here in PA (we both live in PA) you must be violating another law before they can pull u over. In fact I know people who drive through seatbelt check points unbelted anf just ignore the cop. They cant get fined.

I always wear mine now, but think that if people don't want to then they shouldn't have to. But cars are also smart enough now to tell and if you get in an accident without one then your insurance shouldn't cover all of your bills. Why should my rates have to go up to cover injuries you didn't need to get? I also see it as survival of the fittest and if you want to take yourself out of the gene pool then go ahead, just leave me alone.

I hate these posts with a passion. Lets spread that mentality to other stuff. Smoke? Insurance shouldnt cover u. Drink? Shouldnt cover u. Have a dog? Shouldnt cover u.

You were dumb enough to do those things right?

seriously. you value choosing the risk of serious injury or death, more than you do surviving a wreck?
and how do you think your kid would feel if you die?

Lol I didn't say that I valued anything in my post, maybe it was construed wrong...I brought that up because I always thought that it was odd that helmets are an option in this state and seatbelts are not...I don't have any kind of excuse for not clicking I just rarely do it within the city. When Im on the road though I do,and my son straps up automatically when he gets in my car, doesn't have to be told to do so.

My insurance company does charge more to people who CHOOSE to smoke and raise their health risks, they also provide a discount if you meet certain requirements towards trying to be healthy. The reason being that if you're going to do something to put yourself at a higher risk then you should pay more and if you attempt to live a better lifestyle then chances are you won't use insurance as much therefor your rates should be lower. Why should it be different with seatbelts? Why should I have to pay your medical bills because you choose to be stupid?

That's right krich, no excuse.
So, your boy buckles up and he'd be safer in a wreck. What if he sees daddy become road kill... why should he have to grow up without you?
He buckles up now, but maybe when he's 16 & in a car with friends he'll shrug it off. Teens take risks no matter what.
You never want to see a loved one after they bust through a car window, face first. but you'd be fortunate if they survived so you can see them in a hospital.

From esurance.com
"On the road or close to home: where do most car accidents happen?
It may seem counterintuitive, but most car accidents happen close to home. Statistics and experts (like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) agree: Car accidents usually happen within 25 miles of home. Most drivers get into a "comfort zone" as they near their front doors, letting down their guard and letting in distractions. "

I dont. And i have one of those cars that beep incessantly when u dont buckle but im so use to it i drown it out. But when i drive with my husband he gets annoyed and makes me put a seat belt on just to stop the beeping.
All this even though a car accident a few years ago had a paramedic saying my seat belt saved me and the proof was in the slice on my neck where my seatbelt cut me from holding me back from smashing the windshield. And its illegal here, and illegal for anyone else to be unbuckled in ur car.
Its weird cause i look at how far and angled my windshield is and i cant imagine how on earth my head would reach it.
