Do you buy deformed or crippled fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I do, have a one eyed pangasius cat, a pimelodus blochii with cataracts in an eye, and used to have a peacock eel with a kinked spine.

I would if I knew they were gonna kill it. I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg. I once had a little zebra that had no tail. He was the best. lol They gave him to me after I had bought a few fish. He lived a long time.

I would!! It gives them character! I went to a LFS and they had a one eyed G. Altifron living with a bunch of koi in a little 30g tank. I went back about a month later and he was still there. I felt really bad for him and picked him up for $5. He is really fun to watch, and easy to pick out from the rest of the madness going on in the tank. His name is "one eye" lol and Im glad i saved him :)

Nope, want one though. Not as much of a fan of the bent tails.

Yep. I have a tendency to go for the special fish. I think their personalities are different. Most of the time I get them either for free or very cheap, but if they are an aggressive type, I usually pass. I have a one eyed severum, one eyed parrot, a dwarf gourami that looks like he has had a bite taken out of him, but its a birth defect, a tailless goldfish, a one eye red eye puffer, had a Frontosa with an inverted gill (RIP),a syno missing his side fins, I feel for them, and their personalities can sometime be different then one without a deformity. My goldfish hovers almost face down but loves his sinking pellets. :)

You've got to post the chomped gourami again. It's priceless!

I think its actually a birth defect. I found that type common in Angel fish, but not these guys. First I have seen.
