Do you keep salt in the water all the time? Or just when you feel it's needed?

1 lb per 100 gallons on a regular basis. 3 with injuries or wierd behavior. 4 when stuffs bad. I use canning salt in a 4lb green box.

Cool, Is that common practice to keep salt in the water all the time? And when you do water changes you add more?

One dose of Binox will kill around 30% or less of your bacteria but you should not see any ammonia spike or problems at all.

I'm a huge fan of salt. When I started keeping payara I had better luck with them in low end brackish then straight fresh. Have been using salt ever since with everything.

Not sure what the norm is when it comes to salt. I'm sure just like everything else you'll get mixed opinions.

Yes... I always add back with waterchanges that are done 5 to 6 times a week.

i usually did.... just for tonic reasons...

I'm not really sure about the salt requirements for rays but seems that my Tiger rays will be more active and show better appetite whenever I dose (0.1% - 0.2% concentration) salt to the water.
Couldn't find any infomation on the Rio Nanay's water parameters especially on the salt content. Really appreciate if anybody here could share some info.
