How about some unusual combinations of tank mates? I used to have an Oscar and White Cloud tetra. The WC would follow the Oscar like a little puppy and the Oscar never ate him. I only fed the Oscar pellets and frozen food so maybe he didn't realize the WC was supposed to be food. I like to think he was just looking after his little buddy. :) The white cloud died after about a year ( of natural causes?) and I was going to try another WC. I bought the new WC but while I was floating the bag in the tank the oscar was trying to eat him so I put him in another tank. I would love to hear more stories of this kind of thing.

i have a 11" bullhead catfish and i had a bag of goldfish that i was using for bass fishing. i had some left so i put them in the tank. it ate every goldfish but 1. everything i put in there it ate but not this goldfish. the gold fish was about 9" when it died.

My 10" Oscar and 1' Gar live with a tiny barb.
It got cahsed a bit upon introduction, but has become a tankmate instead of food.
has been in the tank for several months now.

I dont know if its unusual but a lot on the Polypterus thread said it wouldnt work:
Endi. Bichir, Trimac, Female Dovii, RD, Barred Midas.

I used to have a little gold gourami that was tankmates with a managuense and oscar, they never even chased him.

I fed my turtle a bunch of fancy guppies I had bred, they were full grown, and he ate them all, except one. he bit it, and the whole guppy was in his mouth except the tail, which fell off, then the turtle spit him out! He lived in the tank for like 3 months with no tail until he disapeared.
