BIG_ONE you are being told a second time, stop dropping the word ignorant, your pissing me off.. I didn't say they were ugly or pointless, again I HAVE done my homework and have the right to my opinion just as you have yours. That does not nake me ignorant.. You calling people ignorant above for making assumptions yet your doing the same thing assuming I have no personal experience with them..? Did you ask? People can have an opinion if you approve of it or not bud, that's how it is. I am done with this thread. Take care you two..

Why are you pissed off for? I never pointed you out on here did I? And certainly the majority did not do their homework and never had any first hand experienced with it from the point blank post. And that is like how others are very into American Pitbull Terriors, but when they see an American Bully then they call them hippos and fat little pig. Same terminology with flowerhorns here. But does this mean it has to be you? I don't think so either. That's why I said in the first place to just have a hand experienced with flowerhorns before you start saying anything positive or negative about it. After you tried a few of them out and don't like it, I don't blame you because we all have our own taste. But a shot in the dark and claim that you hit a bulls eye is still ignorant if you ask me...good day to you too and have fun fish keeping!

i hate them.

I really dislike them. Truth. There's too many wild types of cichlids that have, in my opinion, much better colours, personality, and I feel better about keeping fish strains that are pure.

I'm not against people creating them, I just think they're ugly and look better hanging out of another fish's mouth.

I love FH's. I have not found a natural strain cichlid with the same character as most FH's (and I have now owned 4 of them - still have 3). Character-wise, sort of a cross between amphilophus and vieja, with extra tame and greedy genes mixed in.
The amazing colours are just an added bonus for me. For me, they are the ultimate wet pets.

I never said it was, I was just stating that its annoying when they come into the hybrid section to do that when its totally irrelevant. This thread is about whether you like them or not so its appropriate to say stuff like that.

BS you don't have to had owned one to know if you do like them I suppose you dated both guys and girls, before figuring which you liked?

Very easy for me to conclude that I don't want a overpriced, man made fish, that most likely has to be kept in a tank by itself.

Try it for yourself first, that's what I use to always say when I hated them because they are man made with huge bump on the head like its all deformed.
As far as gender goes, dude...get it straight. That comes along all natural, saying that is like saying you walk into a clothing store and you try on a dress and a pant to see which one you like?

Having said that, I totally concur with some of the sentiments being posted here, such as;

A good friend of mine imports Asian aros, some of the nicest aros one could ever hope to own, yet for myself they just aren't my cup of tea & I have no plans of ever owning one. I don't need to "try one", or keep one in a tank, to come to that conclusion. No ignorance on my part either, for my own personal reasons I have no desire to own certain strains or species of fish.

I think that we should all respect the opinion of those who choose not to keep flowerhorns, or even hybrids in general.

i keep my fh with my oscar together and they dont fight. fh's just got a bad rep!!!! awesomef fish!!!
