Do you over react when it come to your fishes?

I am going on vacation here soon for 10 days and am terrified that someone will have to watch my tank.

Am I the only one here who taps my own tanks? That's how I get my turtle's attention! I don't care if it startles some feeder fish. And all my bigger fish haven't cared--they just think it means feeding time.
turtles don't have the same sensitivity as fish.
what "I" might do myself, as an acceptable TINY quiet tap, & non-fishy peoples' inclinations are very different.
with one new lone fish I gently attracted her attention to the top of the tank at the end I feed in (pellets get sucked in the overflow at opposite end where she hangs out). but first I get her attention visually, then light touching by water line & it's not really Tapping. I jiggled my finger at water surface too, showing where to expect food in that tank.

The flowerhorn tank I wouldn't care if my daughter banged on it with a sledgehammer. ....now the 210 in the living room is another story. Kids come over and I like that they take interest in my fish and they leave handprints all over the thing but only makes me cringe while they're doing it. Hands on the tank are ok but foreign objects against the glass and your ass got to go. Nobody puts my fish in a corner lol.

My LFS the owner grab a kid up by the arm and yell at him very loud in front of the parent " dnt ever tap on my fish tanks" now that was a awkward moment.

I would have burst out laughing lol....I don't even like to show new guests and visitors my fish because all they usually want to know is how much they cost....I mean when I visit someone's place I don't ask the price of every other object they have on display throughout their home.
