I try to be as close to perfect as I can, I use to overfeed and it just cost me alot of extra money. The only fish that I have that gorge themselves are my africans and I make up for all the waste by doing 2x weekly water changes on their tank. I will give them an extra helping of bloodworm every now and then though just to make everyone happy.

It is great that you do that...i feed a little too much i think but i have never encountered swim bladder or liver problems.. thank goodness.. but with all the different types of fish we keep ...it is hard to tell if everyone is getting the right amount..so do you feed light daily or skip a day and feed again normal..

before I powerfeed them, but now I feed them every other day

i over feed a little but they are growing boys  i would rather the fish a little fat and healthy than to skinny just in case anything happens ,a a fish with a bit of beef will survive not eating a hell of a lot longer than one that gets the bare minimum.

You think like i do.. i want no one to go hungary and i cannot stand a skinny fish... i want to scream when i go into a LFS that sell fish with sunken in 'bellies... what are they thinking.. to save money on food, so they won't have to do water changes...:WHOA:how many must die... but on the other hand maybe fat fish are more susceptible to illness because their too chunky.. what to do? what to do?...i want answers...

and everyone is doing fine every other day.. i have to break into this routine and just watch them closer to make sure all of them stay in shape.. but this sounds like the way to do it since i know how i am:D

oh boy can those africans gorge... no one else has a chance of getting too much with them... i am always trying to find something they don't like so my synodontis's have enough...they love EVERYTHING ..even my fingers:D

My Venustus and Zebra's will launch themselves out of the water into the lid for pellets lol. They don't munch on my fingers...yet.:)

I found out my venustus have real teeth ..i have a few babies that are maturing in a 125gal and two synodontis and pleco.. i went to stick some food into cave for pleco and junior venustus bit me.. haha..got to love them!! Heres a pic of junior.

Wow he's pretty, mine is a girl, females don't get that colorful though do they?

I think I feed about right...or I like to believe that. Maybe I overfeed, but my fish are still little so it doesn't really affect water quality much. I think I feed my clowns to much though, because they are all really fat after feeding.

Thank you..love the females too..how big is yours?
The girls look like giraff pattern all their life..but lots of gold/yellow .... i just remenbered when i was raising the venutus babies {including junior} i would open the top of the tank and the babies would jump out..luckily i had the tank low almost on the floor..i would pick them up and put them back..but thats how much they love to eat.. very careful to open the top after that!!
