I feed mine once a day, and If they are lucky enough, I will feed them twice a day depending on my mood:headbang2
But feeding once a day is enough...

Only for now dear-
I ight have to make a decision in the near future that I am not going to like to have to make-

I was watching my tank the other day-And my pacu and Silver started to go at it for awhile-Nothing major came of it-----But it might be lack of room starting to lay a factor in my tank now-Both fish are getting huge-And it's showing now....I have removed three fish from the tank to try and give them more room-But I fear in the near future one of the two are going to have to go....I have no other tanks large enough for either of them-So that means uthanizeing one.......Hopefully not---

Sorry about my derail their-----

you can always derail my threads.. never bothers me to drift to different subjects and always come back to topic...i hope this is not a real issue for you in the future... i hope something happens to make things better..last thing i want to think about is putting a fish down.. especially your beautiful monsters... :(:(

I probally overfeed. My fish have learned if they beg enough at the top of the tank ill usually toss em an extra snack

i know it is so hard to say no more, when they are looking at you with those big eyes and wagging their tails.. pushing everyone out of their way... you just feel overwhelming compassion..... and you react before you can think..:D

With the possible exception of very small fry, I don't think any fish needs to eat twice a day.

you just feel overwhelming compassion..... and you react before you can think.

Is it really "compassion" to do something for the fish that you know is not healthy? You're really feeding yourself in that situation!!! Tough love, people!

I dont overfeed but I do feed generously. However my set up is able to control and handle the bioload

i think that is the whole answer here..if your bioload can handle it then you can feed more, but for people like me with 29 fish tanks going and and only so much time for water changes then i think i am kind of forced by the nature of things to ease up on the foods...

It seems in three months time of power feeding my polys they have grown an inch and very much wider. One of them is two inches bigger but not as fat.

Thats good growth alright... i never believed in power feeding... maybe because i feed so good now power feeding would be over kill.. but if it works for you and your water quality is not affected by the amount of waste and you can give the fish big enough tank for lots of exercise i would sum it up to just feeding them good....
