Thats why i try to have alot of plecos..the trouble begins when the others eat everything and do not leave left overs for the plecos.. some fish will eat until they burst so no one else gets it.

yea... that becomes a problem sometimes... but then after i see the "main" fish slow down with the inhalation of food... i drop 3-4 algea/veggie tablets in there for the plecos

Thats what i do too..then the stinkers {plecos} decide... oh i am not eating those algae wafers today..i walk away feeling content that they are getting their share..i come back and the wafer is still disolving and clouding up the tank..so those i only give every few days and try to give them fresh zuchinni slices more often.{darn plecos got me in trouble more then once}....lol

that sounds good...in between my every other day morning feedings we feed frozen treats at night a couple of times a week... so maybe this will end up being the ideal...better water, healthier fish and yet they will be still fed up to par...my hubby said your always on MFK so why don't you post a thread about food amounts... he said maybe if you do not believe me you will believe them..lol ....

i feed the top and middle dwellers as much as they will eat then a little more for the bottom dwellers to scavenge... this has back fired on me once when the pleco's didn't eat as much as they usually do and i had a power outage leading to an ammonia spike

oh those darn plecos .. they will do that ..finicky ..i hope you did not lose any fish...

I lost 3 geo breeding pairs and 2 large breeding silver dollars

That happened ages ago, it was just bad luck that we lost power

I thought you were going to say you lost some fish but that is huge loss..time heals but you never forget.. sorry.. power outdage is unpredictable .. i always hope i am home if and when it happens...
