Do you punish your fish

i read so many responses about people punishing their fishes and its really stupid. firstly the fish dint ask you to buy it and get it home so we have no right to punish it.
secondly, it is our fault that we dont choose their tank mates wisely. some fishes just cant live with tankmates and we should consider that.

+1 I have had bad experiences with tank mates that should have worked out. Now I play it completely safe and stock for the life of each fish. Sometimes this means under stocking and or a less exciting tank but it is a more pleasurable environment for the fish and that helps me sleep
