wut up my fellow MFK'er

just as the title says

do you talk about fish outside this website, and i mean talk about fish with family, friend or even random strangers.

for me i do sometimes talk about fish and the hobby itself, but most of the time i get weird looks and dumb questions like " so wut fish do recommend i keep?" sometimes i get blown off completely, i talk to my parents about my fish sometimes but i can tell that they just pretend to be interested or doesent know wut im talking about.

ahaha del i go through the same thing , i got one freind who shares our passion but hes a damn pothead whos burnt past braindead most of the time and my mom and stepdad will ask me sometimes "how are your fish doin" but i know they're just tryin to show interest in my hobby cause when i give em a lenghty answer they give me a puzzled "oh thats good", and so far everyone i meet at work(petshop) are just idiots who think its cool feeding their pacu and oscars baby mice

Yup...same here. I talk about fish all the time but most people ignor it, wish I would shut up or pretend to be interested. My mother is interested to a degree because she adores my oscars. My gf puts up with A LOT considering we live together and I hardly ever shut up...I am slowely converting her, she is getting better. Her parents think its a waste of time and money (yeah...because beer, ciggerettes and all the crap they by is sooo much better). When I was in college i majored in fish...all me and my friends talked about most of the time was fish. My roommate and I went to the LFS almost everyday (about 10 minutes away). Even my proffesors took interest but then again...they taught fish classes!!! I really miss having fellow fish people around.

there was girl at work who came to my desk and said "So joschmoe tells me you keep fish, thats cool, i have a betta myself". So i said yeah bettas are cool and i then showed her pics of my tank ... She was in shock when i showed it to her... with pictures of the aros, rays and all.. LOL..

I talk about it outside andi have a couple and friends that are into fishes too, one of my friends wants to open a club at our school for fish to spread the word
