just as the title says

do you talk about fish outside this website, and i mean talk about fish with family, friend or even random strangers.

for me i do sometimes talk about fish and the hobby itself, but most of the time i get weird looks and dumb questions like " so wut fish do recommend i keep?" sometimes i get blown off completely, i talk to my parents about my fish sometimes but i can tell that they just pretend to be interested or doesent know wut im talking about.

LOL yeah i been known to go off on a wild tangent about fish ,then only too look at the faces of the people im talking to and see total blankness :grinyes: Oh BTW not all 'girls' dont appreciate the fishkeeping hobby - there are a plenty of us -intellengent enough to be not into into the 'norm' of 'girly-girlism' things ( :eek: some of us even like fast cars too ;) )
 
I love to talk about the fish we keep! I talk to my family and SOME of our friends....The ones who come over alot...They just love our collection, we even got one of our friends started with a tank! He started a cichlid tank and he is now in love with the hobby!

I talk about it with friends or family,some of them get it and some dont.fish keeping is like that either you get it or you dont :) Never talk to strngers :grinno:
 
You might be a little over the top when your wallet contains more pictures of your fish than of your kids.
I always found that girls like fish, I don't date (for long anyways) girls who don't, if they also like fishing I consider them to be keepers. A day together on a rocky coast with a nice picnic followed by an evening in a hottub makes for a very nice date.

Have you heard about the new Red-eyed Lizard they found in Humbolt county, California? It is called the Mariguana, it's habitat is on hillsides overlooking the ocean watching sunsets, and it's mating call is "OH! WOW MAN!"

I talk about fish whenever possible.I find it rare,in my area anyway,to find people that want to talk about fish.even ppl that own a few small tanks dont discuss them much.Much easier to find ppl to talk fishing.
 
I talk to quite a few people about fish. Once people find out about my tank they get really chatty and ask lots of questions and get right into it. Whenever people see my tank for the first time they always go on about how they want to get into fish keeping and start up a tank. I have found that people are REALLY receptive to fish.

Nothing worse than a flat bum. It's all about a nice bum, and flat is just no fun.
 
I'm a grl an me an my current b/f met in a fish chat. an been adding more an more to are collection. i'm also big into reptiles.(although he hates them)
 
Once somebody includes the word fish or aquarium or come to my house, I can talk for hours about fish, even when they fall asleep =) !!!!!

And when someone says any fish related word, before I can talk to them to death, my little brother yells "RUN AWAY!!!!" =)=)=)=)=)=)
