I know this may sound weird, but I love talking to my betta. Sure, he's a fish and doesn't understand me, and I don't pretend he does. But if I'm upset, or angry, or whatever, I know I can talk to him. And as I talk, he looks at me, swims around gracefully and helps me calm down. Sometimes he'll blow bubbles at me and I laugh, because it's seems so funny.
Same thing with my husband's bearded dragon. If I'm crying and my hubby's not around, I just get the lizard out and pet her. She is normally very active and almost naughty in how hyper she is, but if I'm upset, she stays calm and cuddles with me.

Does anyone else do this? I know people love their cats and dogs for the same reasons, but I know my fish and lizard help me in the same ways.

meh some times i sit and talk to my turtle when he starts acting nutz like continuously trys to swim through the glass.
or my puffers when they get to close to my eel

I also will talk to them when they're being stupid.
Ryuu, the bearded dragon, has these ledges in her tank. She likes to run and jump all over them, so I'll yell "No, don't jump, we love you!" She stops, looks at me, and jumps. :)
They're fun when they are crazy.

Mostly when I first wake up in the morning and during feedings...LOL

Yeah, I talk when I feed...we should start a club...and have jackets!

fish are my best listening budds. Better than any therapist or chick, hahahahahha
