Do you test your water?

I test every 4 days on new setups or after changing anything, and once a week on established setups. I've put too much money into the hobby to screw it up by being lazy.

only with a new set up. i do 2 WC a week so i'm not worried.

I check Ammo., nitrite and nitrate once every 2 weeks just before a water change and clean and do 1/3rd water changes every week.

Has been working out great so far.

I only test if the tank is new or there are problems. The problem with test kits is that they are expensive and the reagents are unreliable after a year or so.

I do weekly 1/3 water changes.

I almost never check my water unless I have reason to - ie cloudy water, sick fish etc.

but that hardly ever happens - because of the regular water changes

I have test kits -keep them all on hand in case.

but they collect dust 99% of the time..

ive never tested for anything but ph and I only do that every few weeks or so

I only check during the first week of setting up a new one. After that my fish's health is the testing kit. lol

I like to test about once every 2-3 weeks just to be safe. I will also test if anything seems out of the ordinary.
