I always wondered why fish people never truly find significant others that enjoy the "Sickness" too. I mean a person that loves fish too. Not a betta tank or goldfish tank. I mean the person wants a 125 or higher and they take care of it themselves. They come and sit beside you and watch fish too. You wonder where are they in the house and you find them with the fish, observing. Your special person will try and help you build the DIY tank. They ride or drive you looking for pet stores you found on the internet and enjoy it. Is there anyone out there like this??? Do you think it is best not to have someone like you because your home and garages would be just tanks and nothing else. Just a thought.:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

I don't think that the love to the fishes or to the nature generally, is calling ''sickness''...
It's pretty annoying that, and if you feel sick, try something alse than fishkeeping..
:irked:

Better call it ''crazyness'';)

My missus accepts it rather than supports it.

She finds it amusing that I make the tank look nice with every water change and within 24 hours the Jag has moved the sand into one corner and the Oscars have dismantled the fake plants.

Sorry for the mistake in the title. Should "Does". I have heard many people refer to the hobby as a "Sickness." I have heard "Crazy" too. It originated from people that don't keep fish, not understanding why spend the large amounts of money and care about fish. That fish are not something to throw away, beat on the glass to make it move, etc... We all know that we are not sick or crazy. We enjoy keeping fish, upgrading tanks and replicating the natural environments that many of the fish originate from.

In my case my wife supports the cichlaness... Sometimes she thinks I'm crazy when I spend $1000 on a fish but still supports me in whatever I do.

My wife does. She had fish before we got married. She goes to a few fish auctions a year with me.Feeds the fish if Im at work late.

I wouldnt expect her to do any waterchanges, but she is perfectly content with me having 1800g of water in the house.:D

My better half is like 80% as mad as me about fish, she kept me in the hobby when we first met and if you look at my thread in the diy section called (Then the gf said.......) you will understand that they are out there somewhere.
