hmmm surprising responses. i would have thought fish hobby is in direct competition for funds ... just a thought

my GF "tolerates" fish hobby but it is getting more and more difficult to buy new fish
 
Well if youre in a relationship with someone that barely tolerates the things that make you happy,you can change to suit them.Or put up with it for as long as you can stand it then get a divorce.
 
my girl friend loves my fish as much as i do,she feeds them when i am at work,and she loves taking care of the fry tanks.
 
My past 2 gfs have absolutely HATED my Jag due to his personality, like to the point of wanting to punish my fish.

I love the guy for his personality, honestly.
 
My wife doesn't understand it but she accepts it as a better alternative than other hobbies that I could have. Like being an alcoholic, a drug user, going to strip clubs, or even leaving to play golf everyday.

I've been with my fiancee for five years now and she splits every thing 50/50 with me when it comes to our tanks. I don't know who loves the fish more. Our only difference is that she is more responsible when it comes to buying a new fish, so I never impulse buy anymore. Definitely a good thing.
 
my ex completely supported and enjoyed the hobby with me (and still does) we have remained close friends and still do fish stuff all the time. my family respects it, but doesn't quite get why I'm so obsessed.
 
my girl is pretyy supportive, she emjoys watching and feeding the fish, the key is to let her pick out a fish so she can call it "hers" , i lucked out and she wanted a jack dempsey wich i liked so it was cool, she likes big aggressive fish! ive been tryin to talk her into throwin out the loveseat for another tank, she aint hearin it
 
My gf had nothing to do with fish at all when i met her, thought they were too difficult to look after, but was very supportive of me with mine (I just had 1 4ft tank at the time and bought a 6ft tank a month or so after meeting her.) 'Mrs Satan' is now on MFK with her own tank and has helped me with my 1000gal build. Now it's normally her idea to go out long distance just to browse fish shops!
 
My gf cares less what I do as far as hobbies go. Ditto for me to we do things together and do things apart and respect each others hobbies whatever they may be. Incidently she has very little interest in my tanks. Who cares/ LOL
