I recommend Atlas Vanlines for that kind of stuff. I am in the moving field and furniture pads are definitely the way to go . Not only do they protect the glass from scratches but they also give the whole piece strength. I also recommend using a piano skid on each end (strapping the piano skid) And a few 4 wheel dollies . The piano skid will also give it strength as well as it distributes the weight a little bit better rather having it on a dolly which are technically only for so much weight. If you do decide to hire movers make sure they are international and very well trained. There are a lot of sketchy "make money quick " movers and the reason why I recommend atlas is because 85 % of the time these people are traind, insured and the company will be held accountable for damages not only to the tank if something does happen during transport but also any damage done to property.

hello; One other thing I have been doing on all of my glass cornered tanks is to silicone a transparent plastic corner protector to the outside corners. I have found such items made for the outside corners of wallpaper. I sometimes have to trim them a bit if they are too wide. This has prevented chips in the glass along the outside corners of an all glass tank. I leave it in place after the tank is set up. It is very easy to chip the corner of a glass tank. (How many times did I type corner?)
