Does a jardini's barbels grow back?

I don't know how it came off but I came home to feed my fish and noticed that one was missing.

It will. Deformed, but it most probably will.
 
It'll grow back most likely but it'll not end up like it used to. What are the tankmates? Your Jardini might of injured itself if it freaked out or something and banged at the glass.
 
Depends on how close it was cut off to the lower lip. If it's close to the lip (the nerve ending) then it will not grow back.

It is in with juvenile cichla growouts.They are all around the same size,around four to five inches ,bare tank,and I have not noticed any squabbles.

Did it jump out of the tank?

HAve you noticed some "whitish" stuff around the barbels?

And yes, if it cut off at the base, it may not grow.

Has happened to me more than once. I could not care less, They still are awesome.
