Does a jardini's barbels grow back?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No it did not jump out and I have not noticed any white stuff. There is a stripe of redness running from just under the lower lip to what would be where the head meets the body.

can you provide a photo?

It will grow back but it might look deformed and shorter than the other one.

It is in with juvenile cichla growouts. They are all around the same size, around four to five inches ,bare tank, and I have not noticed any squabbles.

the aro might of gotten spooked my a sudden movenmnt of your cichla and bump against the glass. That might be a your best bet.

I had my one big aro get sick a few years back. Lost both right down to the base. They grew back completely normal . I recently got another aro that was in rough shape but after a few months they grew back but one is a little squirrelly. I guess there is no rhyme or reason.

It will grow back quicker w smaller Arows and slower with older fish, in some cases I have needed to trim the other one because they never grow back the same size, new barbel is usually smaller

they might?
how big is your aro?
how big is your tank?
if he continuously rubs the side of the tank turning around, they will not grow back.

it depends on where it was cut. if its in the middle, it will sure grow back almost the same. but when it was cut closwer to his lips i dont really know if itll grow back the same as the other barbel. +1 to hya. goodluck bro
